The organisers of the Children’s Games are pleased to
publish the Event Welfare Plan. This document provides the
reporting procedures and information for all individuals involved
and working on the event. The aim of the Welfare Plan is to
ensure that all participants experience a safe environment and
enjoy their visit to Coventry for this 39th
International Children's Games.
This plan and extracts from within should be shared with
parents, coaches, volunteers and officials. All cities have
signed up to the plan and are committed to ensure that codes of
conduct are adhered to by all those attending the Games.
Please note the mobile telephone numbers of individuals have
been deleted in this version of the Welfare plan to protect the
individuals concerned.
Welfare structure for sports programmes are part of the good
practise that the UK is a world leader in. Games Partner, the
NSPCC, is playing a major part in sharing this good practise
throughout the Children’s Games, when on the 8 July the:

The plan demonstrates the Games commitment to safeguarding
children at the event and has been brought together through a
number of partners.
Games Welfare Manager Audrajean Elliott- Davies said
“We are proud to demonstrate, not only to the
region but also the world, how committed we are to delivering a
safe event and to ensure that children have an excellent time
whilst here in Coventry England.” She added
“The partnership involved in developing and
delivering the plan is extensive and has involved Coventry Social
Services, Youth Sports Trust, University of Warwick, Coventry City
Council Health and Safety, West Midlands Police and commitment from
the Event Director and his team to ensure the plan is a priority in
the event management”
The team received valuable support from the NSPCC CPSU in the
final drafting of the plan and as partners the CPSU are helping to
facilitate the training of the Welfare team for the Games.
