Since the first International Children's Games
and Cultural Festival in 1968, 27,000 children aged 12 to 15 have
participated, representing nearly 200 cities and 50 countries,
making it the world's largest international multi-sport youth games
as well as a recognised member of the International Olympic
Committee. The 2005 Games will be held in Coventry, UK, with over
2000 competitors, officials and delegates spanning 50 nations and
five continents.
Research-TV presents
two Video News Releases on the ICG on behalf of the University of
Warwick (a principal sponsor of the Games) and Coventry City
Council. The ICG takes place just as the International Olympic
Committee decides on the host city for the 2012 Olympiad at its
meeting in Singapore. Many of the participants in the 2005 ICG will
be competitors in the 2012 Olympics.
Research-TV has had cameras in Singapore following the
city’s team as it prepares for the Games. The University of
Warwick will host the team when in Coventry. As well as films and
reports from Singapore Sports School, the VNR will also feature
final preparations in Coventry. As the London bid team applies the
finishing touches to its final presentation, the VNR also features
special interviews in the run up to the Olympic decision.
